Tom Hunter

Agency Principal / Owner

Tom Hunter has amassed over 55 years of experience in the insurance industry.

After graduating from Davidson College in 1966, he began his insurance career with Security Life and Trust, which later became part of Liberty Mutual.

He joined the U.S. Army in February 1967, serving in the signals corps until being discharged in October 1970.

In 1971, he joined Stowe Insurance as a producer. Throughout his career, he has built extensive expertise in both Life and Property & Casualty insurance, helping generations of clients protect what matters most.

An avid outdoorsman, he has explored countless waterfalls throughout the Appalachian Mountains. Today, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Patti, and visiting with their five grandchildren.

Beth Carpenter

Personal Lines Producer - Gastonia

Beth Carpenter began her insurance career in Life and Health Insurance sector, later transitioning into Property & Casualty. Since joining Stowe Insurance in 2010, she has built lasting relationships with clients by providing knowledgeable guidance and exceptional service.

Outside of work, she enjoys traveling with friends, and making memories with her two cherished grandchildren.

Brent Bickel

Personal Lines Producer – Mt. Holly

Brent Bickel began his insurance career in Life Insurance on April 19, 2019, bringing decades of business ownership and customer service experience to the industry. Prior to insurance, he owned and operated Subway franchises, starting with his first location in 1987 and successfully growing his business until selling his stores in 2008.

Outside of the office, he is an avid animal and nature lover who enjoys camping, hiking, traveling, and photography. He finds photography to be the perfect way to relax while capturing the beauty of the outdoors.

Hank Rodkin

Personal Lines Producer - Belmont

Hank Rodkin entered the insurance industry in 2015 after a successful career in automotive sales. His experience building relationships and helping customers make important decisions has made him a trusted advisor for clients seeking insurance solutions tailored to their needs.

When he’s not assisting clients, Hank enjoys spending time with his son, Dylan, traveling to baseball tournaments, cheering on his favorite teams, and exploring new restaurants as a dedicated foodie.

Julie Flannigan

Bookkeeper

Julie Flannigan has more than 21 years of bookkeeping experience to Stowe Insurance, along with extensive expertise in financial management and operational efficiency. Her strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy help support the agency’s operations and ensure exceptional service for clients.

Outside of work, Julie enjoys spending time with her husband, Court and their Goldendoodle, Brodie, and playing with her grandkids Arden and Hayes.

Ethan Thrower

Personal Lines Producer - Belmont

Ethan Thrower joined Stowe Insurance in 2026 as a Personal Lines Producer. Prior to joining the agency, he worked in Life Insurance, where he developed a passion for helping individuals and families better understand their coverage options and protect what matters most.

A graduate of the University of South Carolina, Ethan earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 2025. A sports enthusiast, in his free time he enjoys playing golf, and cheering on his favorite college football teams.

Thomas Hunter

President – Commercial Lines Producer – Belmont

Thomas Hunter joined Stowe Insurance in 2019 as a Personal Lines Producer after spending nearly a decade in athletics, including playing professional soccer in the minor leagues and coaching teams in Georgia, Tennessee, and North Carolina.

In 2026, Thomas transitioned to Commercial Lines to better serve clients and help meet all their insurance needs. His diverse background in athletics has equipped him with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, which he brings to every client relationship.

Outside of work, Thomas enjoys staying active, watching soccer, and spending time with his wife, Beth, and their two children, Maggie and Tommy.
